A brief introduction to silicon micro powder

Feb 11, 2024|

Silicon micro powder is a non-toxic, odorless, and pollution-free inorganic non-metallic material. Due to its excellent properties such as good temperature resistance, acid and alkali corrosion resistance, high thermal conductivity, high insulation, low expansion, stable chemical properties, and high hardness, it is widely used in fields such as chemical engineering, electronics, integrated circuits (ICs), electrical appliances, plastics, coatings, advanced paints, rubber, and national defense. With the rapid development of high-tech fields, silicon micro powder will also enter a new historical development period.

Silicon micropowder is made of natural quartz (SiO2) or fused silica (natural quartz is amorphous SiO2 after high temperature melting and cooling) through crushing, ball milling (or vibration, airflow milling), flotation, acid cleaning purification, high-purity water treatment and other processes.
